Paediatric First Aid (OFSTED and EYFS compliant)

Join us on this two-day Ofsted approved Paediatric First Aid course.

This course runs in two parts, in order to be fully qualified you must ensure both the online and face-to-face part of the course are completed.

Part 1 (6 hours) - Online:

First, you'll complete the theory element online via our comprehensive e-Learning.

Part 2 (1 day) - Face-to-face:

Then, you'll complete the practical element and assessment in the classroom. Here, the skills you have learnt online are practiced and embedded.

Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.

This course is perfect if you need to meet OFSTED's criteria and the EYFS guidelines. Brilliant for anyone working in an Early Years setting, such as a Childminder, Teacher, or Nursery Assistant.

 

Qualification achieved:

 

Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

Certificate is quality assured by Qualsafe Awards and is valid for 3 years.

Who is this course for:

This course is great for those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.​

 

Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

  • staying safe

  • DR ABC

  • know the basics of CPR

  • how to use a defibrillator

  • assessing an emergency first aid situation

  • dealing with an unresponsive infant or child

  • the first steps to help choking

  • recognising meningitis

  • head and spinal injuries

  • anaphylaxis and what to do

  • treating asthma

Delivery is to a maximum of 12 people and the minimum age is 14 years old.

Improved confidence is guaranteed.

 

Practice CPR with the latest adult, baby and child Resus Anne's, have a go at applying a defib with our training units and utilise our choking vests so you know how to deal with choking. We have all the latest equipment to practice with so that you can be there when it matters and be confident.
