Service Description
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is ideal for you as a beginner. It is Cheshire First Aid’s most popular first aid course. It’s perfect for employees from low-risk workplaces like offices and shops. It’s also brilliant for individuals who want to acquire lifesaving first aid skills. The course is accredited by Qualsafe Awards and your certificate will be valid for three years. This course is perfect for anyone at any level, in every low-risk environment. You can expect: During the course, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: • staying safe • managing an unresponsive casualty • performing CPR • using a defib • putting someone in the recovery position • helping someone choking • seizures, burns • recognising shock • dressing wounds and bleeding • wound packing & tourniquets The course is suitable for: Anyone who wants to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It's ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in a workplace or in voluntary and community settings. Minimum age: 14 Everyone who attends will receive: a comprehensive Emergency First Aid at Work book, a Qualsafe e-certificate and all required resources, including a pen. Certificate: Valid for 3 years. Accreditation achieved through Qualsafe Awards, the qualification is Ofqual regulated. Exceeds HSE requirements for low-risk environments The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.
